I always wanted to make a list of google talk tools for active gtalk users. I use Gtalk 8-15 hours a day. So, i need to do a lot more than just chatting. Take a look at the following Gtalk tools to enhance your Gtalk experience.
Gtalk Sidebar
The Gtalk Sidebar is my most loved addon because you can keep an eye on your contacts even when your switching firefox tabs or skimming through an article using the Firefox sidebar. If you want you can pop-out the GTalk application in a new window. You can also add the Google Talk Gadget to your bookmarks.
Extended Talk
This is very useful Gtalk addon is the Extended Talk that really improves your Gtalk experience such as changing your chat windows transparent, changing font colors, message and typing areas, creating text filters, using smileys, and custom images. Other features include insert dates, time, IP address, email, etc. in your messages. It fits well with the Gtalk interface.
Gtalk to VOIP
GTalk to VOIP offers a number of free and paid VOIP services that you can use with your IM tools including GTalk, Yahoo Messenger, and Live Messenger. Free services include Voice calls between Google Talk, MSN/Live Messenger and Yahoo!, Voice mail service, interoparable between major IM clients, Voice conferencing: with any number of participants of any IM type, Sending off-line messages and notifications, Calling SIP phones and SIP services, Receiving calls to your IM from any SIP phone, Receiving calls to your IM from mobile or landline phones using SIP Broker, Receiving calls to your IM from web users andFree toll-free calling to 1-800, 1-866, 1-877 and 1-888 numbers via SIP Broker. There are also a few paid services payment can done through paypal.
Inezha
Inezha is a fantastic tool to use your Google chat client as a feed reader. Simply send the RSS feed url to the Inezha bot on your GTalk and ask to be notified on all future updates. Good for social media mavens and news bloggers and ofcourse readers. It also has a feature to add your friends and subscribe to their updates.
Translation Bots
Translation Bots is a very useful if you have a lot of non-English clients. Whenever you need to translate any word or sentence from one language to another, you can send that as a message to one of the assigned Google Chat translation bots. The bot then acts as a translator and replies to the translated version of your message.Isn’t that cool.
For example, invite en2zh@bot.talk.google.com, open a chat with it, and then whenever you type something in English, the bot will repeat the word in Chinese (say e.g. “hello” and the bot correctly translates to “??”).

Gtalk is certainly getting more and more popular and new features they are regularly introducing make it a leader among similar services online. I especially liked the last choice - Translation Bots, because it allows me to freely communicate to people who are not proficient in English.
