A new kind of fuel cells (Water Energy System) has been developed by Japan. This cell consumes water as fuel and emits CO2. The fuel cells needs the supply of air and water to generate power. The working principle of breaking down water into hydrogen and oxygen through a chemical reaction is done by a material contained within the membrane electrode assembly (MEA).
The estimated costs for this fuel calls can come near to (US$18,500) - But, this costs will be futher lower if the product is successful and approved for mass production.
