Nokia has come out with a interesting concept to take home video conferencing to the next level. Being named - Jeppe, designed to explore how people react to different forms of video conferencing hardware to traditional PC webcams. Packed with video cameras, a digital compass and microphones, the tiny robot prompts more passive conferencing at home. Jeppe was created by Nokia’s Research Centre Smart Spaces lab, which studies remote management and “smart” technologies.
The N800 keypad enables the user to steer around, like it can used to remotely watch your house when you are away. Video conferencing chats are conducted in real time using GoogleTalk. It has pre-loaded set of six gestures to trigger movements.

Jeppe the video conferencing web cam! I hope Nokia personalise this a bit more - perhaps with a smiley face!
